That really is cool. But, what causes a two-headed animal? Inbreeding, right?

It is basically a birth defect. Just like how some people have 6 toes. Sure you could get a two-headed snake from generations of inbreeding, but you could also get it through a normal non-related parental brreeding. It's rare but that's not to say that it doesn't occur every now and then. :)

2 headed reptiles occure when the embryo is splitting to form twins. They are basically twins that stopped splitting for some reason.
