Well, my female veiled chameleon caught me a little off guard today. While I was at my mom's for the weekend, she decided to lay some eggs. I'm guessing there's around 20 or so in there, because I left them buried for the most part while I'm setting up my dad's hovabator. I should have them in there sometime tomorrow. Does anybody know if the fan in the thing will dry them up, and if there's anyway around it? Thanks. By the way, I'll get some pics up when I get a chance.

fan in the thing will dry them up

yes
i would advise you to not use ANY hovabator for cham eggs just find somewhere in your house from 80-88degrees and mix some perlite 1.5 parts perlite to 1 part water but if they have been in the dirt for too long it might be too late hope that helps

I would still try to hatch them out. If my dragon eggs are in the sand to long I still set them up and I mist them real good a few times a day to see if they will come back. Some do some do not. It worth a try.

they should be ok m8
i have left cham eggs for over a week before now with no probs

they need 79-80F and 100% humidity
that is equal wieghts of water and perlite or vermiculite NOT 1.5-~1 as reptile dude said

DONT USE A HOVABATER

hell i incubate literly 1000 of cham eggs a year in nothing more technicle than a syro box with a heat mat and stat set up
oh each egg batch is in it's own tub of vermiculite/water mix

Sounds like a homemade hovabator to me....Minus the fan of course

They should be doing fine. My dad's so busy, I'm almost never home. Last I checked conditions inside the incubator were right on.
