Just thought you all might be interested to know that my albino burm decided last night that he hadn't had enough at mealtime and that my fingers seemed like a good nutritional supplement. He tagged me fairly hard and the blood flowed. [wawa] I haven't been bitten for at least a couple of years so it came as a bit of a shock. I suppose I had one comming. He's so sweet though, and I just can't help but love him.

How big is your burm? I have only been bit twice by my girl... once when she was 4 feet, which was just a scratch, and another time when she was 8 feet. The last time she bit me at 8 feet was not cool at all. My hand was swollen and shaking like crazy and the blood gushed all over the place, plus I had a bruise for like 2 weeks. Luckily I knew what to do and I didn't freak out or pull back when he snapped. I am just afraid to get bit when she's like 15 feet long or more.

The other day she actually went for my face and I was standing up!! She rose like 4 - 5 feet out of the air and tried to kill my face. It's not that she has anything against my face (lol) it's just your face is the warmest part of your body. I ended up tripping backwards over the TV :\

It was feeding day anyway and I fed her a nice juicy 4 pound bunny after that :p

I know what that feels like. I got tagged by my burm when it was around 6', and the weird thing was i didn't bleed that much. There were a fair amount of puncture holes in my hand but other than that it was a real shocker because i didn't expect him to bite. I can remember the pain, it was excrusiating. Unfortunatly when my burm bit it didn't let go, and was on for a good while. (certainly longer than anyone would want). Do you know why it bit you. Hungry, smelled food, pissed off, startled, ect...?

i got bit by my friends albino burm once when it was 4ft,(i was dandling a bird in front of her and she got my knuckles, and once at 8ft, just reaching in her cage to get her out then Bam, my friend sat there and said "oh my god", then finally she let go. it didnt hurt that bad but it sure did bleed a lot. i had 17 puncture holes:D

My most recent bite was from a baby sinaloan milksnake, they are just so damn cute trying to eat a huge finger...lol The bite before that was my worst one of all. My 9ft Normal burm, whom has always had a STRONG feeding response, decided to go for my hand. He bit and constricted my arm. He almost coil his whole body but I caught his hind end. Blood and Pain is all I can say. Oh yeah and a WHOLE lot of colorful metaphors.

Wow, getting bit is just another one of the things i have to look foreward to when i start getting bigger snakes. lol. I havent been bitten in a while, but came really close a few months back holding my friend's coastal rosy boa. it had its head on the joint where my thumb connects to the rest of my hand and pressed its head down, which i knew from experience with my baja rosy female that it means I'm gonna get bit. I dropped the snake hook in my right hand and grabbed him just as he was opening his mouth. What a naughty snake:D. the whole event was very nerve wracking, but now I have a cool story to tell:cool:.
