hand/cage disinfectant? (bebo)

I noticed Jim Mason has some spray that he made me use before handling some of his snakes. I guess you can use it to clean cages as well. I thought it would be a good idea to post this here just in case anyone is curious. I just wish I knew what it was!! I would like to get some, myself :)

before i touch my burm i put on "purell". its a water less soap. as soon as she smells it she dosnt look at me like food. its awesome

I use a hand sanitizing lotion on my hands before handling any of my reptiles. I also use it after handling them. I started using it because when i was at a herp show the dealer had me rub it on my hands before handling his albino boa. Plus it kills almost all of the germs and anything else harmfull to reptiles instantly, so nothing you had previously came in contact with will affect them. I picked up a couple bottles from CVS for like $1.25 a piece.

The stuff I use is called Kennel-Sol, don't remember the manufacturer right off hand. It is widely used in a lot of Vet hospitals,etc. I had my Vet check it out from top to bottom. He checked the toxicity(which was next to nothing when used properly) and ease of use. It dilutes down to where a gallon lasts forever. It kills everything possible including HIV. I have been using it for over a year with nothing bad to say about it. But there are number of great products out, so something can be found for everyone.

Great Jim... thanks!! Maybe I should ask my vet about that stuff and possibly order some for me. I thought I noticed some similar to what you use, but I wasn't sure if it was the same.

i use 2 products
a hand sanitiser that is alchol based like Csnake was talking about
and for all my vivs and equipment i use "trigene" a kennel and vetenry disinfectant that kills most if not all germs :D

I use a purell type substance as well.
To clean the cages I generally use Virosan.
